Interesting facts about Fever


1.The normal temperature of a human body is 97 to 99.6 Fahrenheit.

2.If the body temperature is more than 100.4 it is considered as Fever.

3.When you check the body temperature orally (Mouth) 99.6 F is considered as a Fever.

4.When you check the body temperature under armpit, 99 F or more is considered as a Fever.

5.Body temperature taken in the ear, 100.4 F or higher is considered as Fever.

6.Fever is also known as Pyrexia, which is more than normal body temperature and is a part of our body’s natural response to any kind of infection.

7.Fever is a protective reaction to fight against Pathogens like Bacteria, fungi, and viruses which enters your body to make you sick by killing your cells.

8.Pyrogens are chemicals produced by white blood cells/immune cells released in the blood stream.

9.Hypothalamus in the brain is responsible to tell us whether we are affected with fever.

10.Pyrogens bind to specific receptors of Hypothalamus in the brain, and rises the body temperature. Increased body temperature kills the pathogens that are sensitive to temperature changes and as they can’t survive they get killed.
